Great Memories with Grandparents

I thought this was a pretty good book. Yet I didn't like the fact that it was so small. But otherwise, I think it has a very good lesson to it. Many children could learn that being patient isn't that bad, even when you're waiting for just a fish to tug on their line. They can also learn that spending time with someone, no matter what age, can be fun. Many children don't like to hang out with their grandparents because they think that they're too old to have fun. I know I like to spend time with my grandpa. He's much more fun than his age should allow but he loves life and I like spending it with him. My other grandfather also, I remember some very fond memories that I have had with him as well. I remember going fishing with him and my brother and sister. I hadn't caught anything myself, but my brother and sister had. Even though I hadn't, that wasn't the most important thing to me. I was excited to spend time with my grandpa since he lived in Illinois(he still does). I think that's what let us have the most fun though, because then, we used the time we had to spend with each other having tons of fun. We haven't done this in a long time though because he's gotten older and so have I so things kind of slowed down. I try to spice things up though whenever he comes to visit or we go down to Illinois to see him and my grandma. But it speaks of how when brother and sister rabbit get home, they were sad since they hadn't caught anything but they got to eat a special meal that their grandma had prepared for them. Then, when their tummies were full, they said to grandpa, "Fishing was okay, but most of all, we loved just being with you! And we learned so much. Like how to wait and wait and wait!" So they put aside the fact that they hadn't caught anything and thought about how much fun they had just being with their grandpa and how much they learned. That's another thing, you never know how much fun or how much you can learn from someone until you actually hang out with them and get to know them. Even little kids can grasp that.
