Excellent book!!!!

In First Daughter, the daughter of the President of the United States goes off to college only after she thinks that she will be able to enjoy her school years without the supervision of the Secret Service. The government agrees to her request but assigns a young agent to act as a student in order to keep an eye on her. The first daughter, Samantha, and the agent, James, fall in love until she learns his true identity. All of my thoughts about this book are really summed up by the quote, "Why can't Samantha just be like everyone else?" In First Daughter there are three main characters. Samantha Mackenzie, Mia Thompson and James Lansome. Samantha is the President's daughter. She wants to be like everyone else at her college. She is a very quiet girl but is madly in love with this one guy. Mia is the girl that shares a dorm with Samantha. When she finds out that she is sharing a dorm with the President's daughter she gets very bummed. But it turns out that they become best friends. She is a very energetic girl. She likes to party and is really into guys. James is Sam's love. He is a very athletic kid. He likes Sam too the minute he sees her. First Daughter takes place on the campus of Redmond University. The book is all about Sam's first year of college at Redmond University. It is a comedy but also romance at the same time. Christa Roberts wrote this book. I think that she used a lot of realistic details. I think she showed this a lot by explaining how Samantha was feeling. In First Daughter the problem is that Samantha wants to be treated like any other college girl, but since she is the President's daughter, her Dad finds out about everything. This book would be good for someone who likes books that are funny, but have romance in them at the same time. This book is extremely funny at times but can be very serious too. Someone that likes books like that should read this book because it is full of that kind of stuff. This book is very similar to the book and movie The Cinderella Story and Raising Helen. These books and movies all revolve around the same idea of someone trying to fit in. If you liked any of those you will be sure to like this book! I think that Christa Roberts was very good because she used different words and expressions. I think that this book is very good and I read a chapter or more every night. When I read this way I finished it in about 1 and 1/2 weeks. First Daughter was an excellent book. I believe that any girl between the age of 11 and 14 would like this. I had to do this online book review for a Language Arts book report.

First Daughter is a great book!

This book is a fast read. I liked how the events moved fast but gave a lot of detail about plot and characters. I liked how I could see Samantha Mackenizie (main character) in my mind and the way she was being followed. Both by the Secret Service agents (not so secret) and the press. SAM JUST WANTED TO BE NORMAL (this statment kept flashing in my head as I read this novel). When a secial someone starts to see the inside of Sam, she is so happy, until the unexpected happened. I would stay up late and my eyes would be glued on the book instead of the T.V. My parents were happy about that! I would reccomed the book to anyone, even if you don't like to read, like me and I usually struggle with reading, but this was fun and easy! I had to write this review for my high school English class and I am glad I did. -Katie

Great Read

I loved the book! It was a very fast paced great read! I can't wait to see the movie. I was a little disappointed that the story ended so fast. I was wanting to read more!
