27 yr-old Lydia Worth needed a job, as a temp she had the opportunity to land a position as secretary to the big bad Wolf Strade himself. Wolf fell in love with Lydia at first sight, then he found out she was married. But that was what he needed, a married secretary that wouldn't be swooning every few minutes at his feet. Lydia had a little girl, Hannah, Wolf fell just as hard for Hannah as he did for Lydia, it isn't until he calls to get Lydia to come in early for a job, that he finds Lydia has fallen down and Hannah is worried, she breaks all speed records to get to her side, only to find her husband is nowhere in sight. Thus encouraged, Wolf finds himself more drawn to Lydia, and ready to fight for the fair ladies hand, or what ever it takes, only the fair lady won't be won. Wolf thinks it's because her husband Matthew has mistreated her in some way and made her afraid of being with anyone else. Until he puts little Hannah to bed, and finds from little sweetheart that her daddy is in Heaven. Now the gloves are off, and he wants to know why Lydia was making a monkey out of him, she surely knew that he was head over heels in love with her? Only to learn that she was just as in love with him, neither of them thought the other was that into the other. I am a sucker for books with kids in them, but as usual the child only comes into the story when she is needed for the plot. But in this case she came into the story in the nick of time. From the back of the book: 'With his gorgeous blue eyes and cool sophistication, Lydia's new boss was a powerfully charismatic man. But Lydia dared not surrender to the dangerously sweet attraction she felt towards Wolf Strade. She had her tiny daughter, Hannah, to think of-and Wolf made it only too clear that love and marriage didn't feature on his agenda. Lydia's dilemma was whether she wanted to try and melt the icy barrier around his heart...and, if so how!'
