quick question...

okay,i have heard good things about the ff book and movie, and this might seem like a dumb question but is this the book with a guy named cloud? if someone could answer this i would apperciate it thanks.

Great Movie - Good Book

I don't know why do you people don't like the movie and the book? After all isn't it another one of Square's great Final Fantasies?Personaly I think that the movie was GREAT for many reasons. First of all it had great 3D animation which was the most life-like I've seen so far.Second I liked the main plot a lot ,yes it was not very complicated but it still was very good.About the ending : what I understood of it is that no matter how bad things look there is always hope and life will always flurish. At least that's what I understood of it but even if you don't understand it that still is no reason for you not to like the movie. That is what I and a lot of my friends think.Bye for now.

Too plain

I've only read a fandful of film novilizations, but I the ones I've read has had some extra features; interviews with the director, producer ecct., a forword, screenshots from the film, thingsx like that. But this one has NO extra features. No forword, screenshots, interviews, this book goes in the order of three cover-pages, the story, and a paragraph about the author. They don't even expand the plot one iota. The writing it'self also leaves a little to be desired. This guy must have flunked 6th grade english. Repetitive use of the word "said", lacking, poorly written metephors and similies, and diaglouge and location explainations that don't coinside with the film give this book a lot to be desired. I only gave it four stars because I liked the film so much. Rabid fans of the movie/games will enjoy this book. Everone else will look for something better, FAST.

Open your mind!

The story presents a *fantasy* with a theme that may be unfamiliar to most people. The film shows a near-realistic looking world populated by near-realistic looking characters in fantastic situations. Why do the negative reviewers insist on being spoon-fed? Use your imagination--remember how? The story gives you all the threads to put together the theme, which is about the elements and the cycle of life. The ending points to the renewal of life (hint: Aki & Gray did more than just kiss) and hope on a devastated Earth, a new beginning with an open-ended future. Too many critics want a nice, neat package where the guy gets the girl and everyone lives happily ever after. Sorry to break the news, but real life can be messy.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within

While some people say that the movie is nothing like the book, that could not be more the opposite for FF. This book and the movie follow the exact same words said, and everything. Of course, that also means that the ending of the book made no more sense than the ending of the movie did. All in all, the book showed us the movie perfectly, but it did it too well: it gave us the same ending as the movie, with no explanation of what really happened.
