As weapons evolve and fighting tactics adapt, the women's nursing skills are honed but together they learn not all injuries are able to be cleansed, stitched and bandaged. Some linger deeper and require more than a field hospital or a nurse can possibly provide.
The second novel in the Liberating Le Quesnoy takes the reader beyond the fortified walls of Le Quesnoy and into the battlefields for an authentic retelling of life at the front, not from the soldiers but those who were there to support them and tend to their wounds.
