Another good Robert Westall story.

I enjoyed the Machine-Gunners and I enjoyed this sequel - Fathom Five. I realize these are supposed to be children's books but that is not to say readers interested in WW11 would not find them good reading. I own several of Robert Westall's books. The only one I didn't, "get" was The Scarecrows. My #1 favourite (English spelling) of his is still Blitz Cat. I LOVE that book.

the best book I have ever read about WWII

This is a great book with bone chilling suspence durring a time of love and war.The book is about a english boy named Chas Mcgill who has stumbled upon a strange obgect after a u-boat was sunk.he his frend Cem Jones and his girl freind Shiela work together to try to solve the mystery of what the object is and whos it is... without endangering there own.Irecomend this book to every one especialy world warII fanatics like myself.

The 'Best' World War 2 Book Around

The Fathom five is a thrilling story of a boy named Chas McGill who has found out about a spy living in his own town of Garmouth. He sets out to find the spy with his best friend Cemetary Jones who lives in the cemetary with his dad. Together they find a machine trapped on the sands of the river bank and find out that it can be used for morse code. This book is the sequal to the Machine Gunners also by Robert Westall.

Made you feel like you were really there

I found that this book really there. Not to mention that the suspense never stopped. But it end is really sad. You wont be able to put it down
