Intrigue at its Best

As one whose 1st choice in books usually is not a suspense thriller, I was more than pleasantly surprised with this novel. Not only did it hold my interest -- it was hard to put it down. Even though the book had a short chapter style, it did not keep my reading time brief, because I could hardly wait to get to the next chapter. Whenever I turned the page and saw a new chapter coming up, I knew that I would be in for more twists and turns, and the excitement of meeting new and colorful characters. At every turn I became more baffled. It was fun to try to unravel the plot during each new chapter, but I had to end up leaving that puzzle up to the clever mind of the author. Do not hesitate to buy this book, you will love it!

Very Satisfying Mystery Novel

I thoroughly enjoyed "Fatal Gamble", by JP O'Donnell. This is a tight multiple murder mystery, with the antagonist keeping up the pressure throughout the book. The novel takes you into Boston, but also to Washington D.C. and Florida. All the clues are laid out clearly but there's always one piece that still needs to be connected, so you have to keep turning the pages. Our hero, Detective Gallagher, is awesome. He is patient and methodical, but he can also carry the action. O'Donnell has created a character that I hope to see again. Finally, I admit to being skeptical when I received this book (it was on my Wish List). It's self-published, by a local dentist. The book is well-constructed, but the size of the book wasn't the same as a regular paperback novel. It all felt "a little off." All that disappeared when I began reading. It's superbly written, and the pace is relentless. I finished it in two days, which is very fast for me. I completely recommend this book! You won't be disappointed.

Fatal Gamble

This novel is a real page turner! It grabs you from the first page. It is full of colorful characters who all seem "guilty" at one point or another. The author really keeps you guessing. Being from Massachusetts made me like the book even more because I was familiar with some of places mentioned. Definitely a great read! You won't be able to put it down! I highly recommend Fatal Gamble!

Just the right amount of drama and suspense were packed into this thrilling book! I am very familiar with the area where the book took place and it was so cool to be able to visualize Gallagher being there! Keep it going! Thanks for the great read...give us more!

Excellent book, a definite must read!

I thought this was an excellent book with a fantastic murder/mystery story line. The basic foundation of the plot and the many possible suspects keep you intrigued throughout, with something exciting going on from one chapter to the next. The character development and level of detail used to describe the people, various locations, and the scenes throughout were tremendous. If you want an exciting thrill ride, read this book. You too will not be able to put it down.
