"Family of the Heart" charmed me from the first page. It takes two people, both suffering from broken hearts, and brings them together in a fresh, unexpected way. It's tender and true from the first page to the last.
A heartwarming story of love and family.

Sarah Randolph, desperate to leave behind the home city that held memories of her lost fiancé, leaves Philadelphia in 1838 to become a nanny to a motherless little girl in Cincinnati. But from the moment she meets her new employer, Clayton Bainbridge, she fears she has made a terrible mistake. Clayton Bainbridge is a grieving widower, haunted by memories of his late wife, who emotionally neglects his toddler daughter, Nora. Clayton resents that Sarah has come into their lives and dares to tell him how to act towards his daughter. Sarah wonders if she is making the right choice working for him, but she knows little Nora desperately needs a mother figure in her life. She doesn't expect, however, how attached she will become to her young charge, or the feelings that will develop between her and her employer. Family of the Heart is a heartwarming inspirational romance that is sure to be enjoyed by readers who love romances featuring themes of family and children. I also really enjoyed that it had an unusual setting for a historical romance. I'd highly recommend this book, particularly to readers who enjoyed others from the Love Inspired Historical line.
