Suspensful, intriging, and full of passion and action!!

This book was most definately a good read. At first, I wasn't feeling it. The cover was like so, so. But once I got into it, oh boy, it was on. The characters was described in such a way, I felt like I was right there when everything was going on. I'm not one to tell people details about a book, so I won't but what I will say is get the book!!!. It's great!!!

the heart conquers all

i really liked this book for the simple fact that there was a lot of lessons being taught and learned. it is true that we learn from our mistakes and try to move forward and not backwards...in characters david was my favorite because he dealt with his emotions whether they were weak and strong...he came out on top because of his past and how he could forgive and forget and live his life to the fullest and take things one day at a time. gayla came a long way too but she had a lot of soul searching to do to realize that not everyone seems alike. bill was an ok guy but he had a lot of issues to deal with...he stereotyped a lot of people because of their past so i disliked him from the beginning...i won't say any more except this is a book that has a lot of strong emotions and personal feelings dealing with love, forgiveness, and trusting your innerself *S* its a must read for all *S*

My first book by this author. I thought it was great!

This was the first book I've read by Sandra Kitt. I picked it up at my girlfriend's house and I couldn't put it down. Kitt's characters are well developed, and I thought that the story -- while a little unusual -- was believable. It certainly kept my interest. I enjoyed this one so much that I'm going to read whatever earlier ones I can, and I'll be getting her future efforts as well.

Enjoyable reading

I have never read anything written by Ms. Kitt. I just started reading again and was very pleased with the book. I believe there are real people like Dak and Gayla. The fact that they dispised each other as kids and grew to love each other was very nice. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

A good, solid story.

This was not my favorite book by one of my favorite authors, but it was still definitely worth the time. What I like about Sandra Kitt's stories is that each one is different. I think it takes real talent to do that. Kitt has done a really good job in giving the reader a hero who was an ex-con! And he turns out to be one of the most honorable characters in the book. Another thing that I like is that she doesn't try to make everyone perfect in the story. I feel this lets me care about Dak and Gayla and what they were like as teenagers because they grew up to become mature adults. The reviewer who wanted to return the book missed a good story by not finishing it. Sandra Kitt is still one of the best black romance writers.
