Fame: Richard Channing Garfield: Magic the Gathering

By Michael Frizell

Before there were Planeswalkers, there was one man who built the first multiverse. FAME: Richard Chaning Garfield tells the story of the mathematician-turned-designer who created Magic: The Gathering and forever changed how the world plays. From his childhood experiments with homemade games to the spark that ignited a new genre, this biographical comic explores Garfield's balance of logic and imagination, mathematics and myth. Blending fact and artistry, it reveals how one idea reshaped fantasy, community, and modern gaming itself. Whether you've shuffled a deck or simply love stories of creativity and innovation, this is the origin of a game that became a world.
