As I mentioned in a previous posting, "Fake It Til You Make It" by Philip Kerns is now back in print as part of another book: "The Dark Side of the Pyramid" by Patrick J. Smith. This is Smith's 1st book on this subject. The Dark Side rips the mask off the MLM industry. Patrick J. Smith's analysis of the problems facing the Network Marketing (MLM) industry is insightful. It is really spooky that Philip Kern's book and Smith's book, written 20 years apart, are in many ways so similar. I've been waiting for years for someone to have the courage to reprint Kern's book (it's worth all "5 Stars" just to buy this for this section alone). Some people may be "put off" by the Bible quotes at the end of each chapter, but the core analysis and tools that he gives the reader are more than worth it, especially the "30 Questions" section that arms the novice with the right questions to ask any potential "sponsor." Really, really good. "MLM-ers" will probably hate this book.
Expose of Amway
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 26 years ago
This is an outstanding and detailed expose of the Amway multi-level marketing phenomena. The whole idea is in the book's title: Fake It 'Til You Make It! Although I believe that Amway is a legitimate business and probably makes pretty decent products, the real money is made by the relatively few elite compared to the hundreds of thousands of people that have been involved in Amway through the years. This book exposes the fact that the real money is actually made by the Diamonds and above through the marketing of conventions, books, and tapes that people in their "downline" must obtain in order to be successful in their business.
