A true entertainer, even includes the music!

Eduardo Xol is a true entertainer, he even includes the music. This book comes with a music CD. There are 18 songs on the CD, 3 for a Princess party, 3 for a Classic dinner party, 3 for a Spa party, 3 for a White party, 3 for a Summer party, and 4 for a Margarita party. I'm guessing these songs are jump starts for you to create your own playlist. If you put these songs in itunes and then use the genius feature it will create a whole playlist of 20 songs based on just those 3 songs. Quite clever. Each playlist aligns with the 6 dinner party themes in the cookbook. The Classic Dinner Party theme is a seaside theme for 6 with decorations of coral, seashells, sponges, palm leaves, orchids, and betta fighting fish. The menu is surf and turf with printed menu, all recipes and even cocktails are included in this book. I had never heard of Liela Avila but I'm getting her CD as soon as I'm done here. The Princess Party was a little toooo pink for me but for a bachelorette party it would be perfect even down to the tiara's! From the Spa Party I loved the cantaloupe martini...yummy. Alot of the decorations are extreme, the food is a little extreme in its presentation...but the book is entitled Extreme Entertaining. You can get lots of ideas, just tone it down to your budget. Instead of a large vase of orchids and organza you can do one orchid with a bow. I would have liked more pictures of the food and less of the decorations but overall the book delivers on what it says. All photos are excellent quality. I don't recommend this as a gift just because it's so extreme that unless you know the person very well, it might be overwhelming for people new at entertaining. This is for the seasoned veteran entertainer. Great book, recommend.
