The third edition of Expert Learning for Law Students is a reorganization and rethinking of this highly regarded law school success text. It retains the core insights and lessons from prior editions while updating the materials to reflect recent insights such as mindset theory, attribution theory, chunking for use, and interleaving learning. The text includes exercises and step-by-step guides to engage readers in the process of becoming expert learners--including specific strategies for succeeding in law school.
I have not completed the reading yet, however what I have read has enlightened me. Law school is different from any other learning I have attempted. After completing my first year, it is readily apparent the professors expect you to have much of the knowledge already and what you don't have you are expected to get on your own. This book has helped with identifying the skills to analyze and then to put that information down on paper.
This book really worked for me

I wasn't planning on posting a review, but I saw the other review today and I really disagreed with it. This book worked for me. It took some time, but I worked through the book and I feel now like I am a much better student. Too many books just tell you what you know and either skim over or ignore how to develop your own learning style. This book may not for everyone -- I know some people who would hate working through the various exercises because it is not how they operate. Personally, I found the exercises extremely helpful and I highly recommend this book.
