Basic Research Methods and Common Techniques in Experimental Tuina Science 实验推拿学研究基本方法与常用技术 Experimental Tuina Science is a discipline that combines traditional Tuina techniques with modern scientific experimental methods. It employs modern science and technology to study the effects, mechanisms, principles of action, and application techniques of Tuina on the human body. The discipline aims to verify and refine Tuina techniques through experimental research, thereby enhancing the scientific basis and therapeutic efficacy of Tuina treatment. This textbook consists of an introduction, five chapters, and an appendix. The introduction presents the main tasks, fundamental content, learning methods, and a brief history of the development of Experimental Tuina Science. Chapter one introduces the research methods used in Experimental Tuina Science. Chapter two presents the common detection techniques employed in Experimental Tuina Science. Chapter three discusses experimental research from the perspective of Tuina manipulations, detailing manipulation parameters and effect mechanisms, and provides experimental guidance for the study of 13 manipulations. Chapter four describes experimental research from the perspective of Tuina exercises, focusing on the biological effects and mechanisms of Tuina exercises, and provides experimental guidance for nine exercise-related studies. Chapter five introduces experimental research on clinical applications across various medical specialties from the perspective of Tuina treatment, including orthopedic diseases, internal medicine diseases, gynecological diseases, pediatric diseases, and otorhinolaryngological diseases, along with experimental guidance for the study of eight common diseases treated with Tuina. The appendix primarily covers basic animal experiment techniques, information on funded projects related to Tuina and exercises from the National Natural Science Foundation of China over the years, and an index of Chinese-English abbreviations. Based on traditional Chinese medicine theory and the academic characteristics of Tuina, this book utilizes modern scientific and technological approaches to further advance the development of Tuina theory and practice, thereby promoting the modernization of Tuina.
