expeditiously

some love finds you slowly.
this one didn't.

this is a collection of poetry about one person. one love that arrived before either of us were ready, that lived in the in-between longer than either of us expected, and that broke me open in ways i didn't know i could break.

and then - somehow, against all odds - became the safest place i've ever known.

expeditiously is the story of what happens when love shows up before the timing does, when two people are drawn to each other in ways neither can fully explain, and neither can fully surrender to. when the connection is real, but the circumstances aren't kind. when you love someone through the almost, and the not yet, and learn to make peace with a love that might not ever become what you need it to be.

and then through the impossible, the part no one saw coming. least of all, me.

these poems were written in real time - in the middle of the falling, in the ache of the in-between, in the strange peace of letting go, and in the overwhelming, terrifying, beautiful reality of being chosen by the person you'd already written the eulogy for.

if you have ever loved someone at the wrong time. if you have ever held on to something uncertain because letting go felt worse. if you have ever grieved a love that was still standing right in front of you...
