Cole Thompson lives in a world destroyed by a virus that makes people do one of three things: evolve, devolve, or die. He always hoped he would never catch the virus. It killed his parents, his sister, surely it would kill him, too. But he did catch it. And it didn't kill him. Instead, he evolved and woke up in a facility that belonged to a group of people who called themselves the United Corps. They claim to want to help Evolved learn how to use the powers they gain from the virus to help fight the Devolved, but Cole doesn't believe them. There is something off about the people running the United Corps and he is certain that their true intentions are far worse than they would lead the Evolved to believe.
