Everything She Never Knew

The author of When We Were Widows turns to life after betrayal in this emotional, heartwarming novel about a woman whose marriage and friendship collapse all at once.

As next-door neighbors and best friends, Claudia and Rachel share everything. But in Claudia's mind, that means recipes and clothes--not husbands. So it's a huge shock when Rachel runs off with hers.

If that weren't enough, her mom shows up at her door with heavy suitcases in tow. She intends to stay until Claudia has pulled through this. But behaving like a typical mother or grandmother isn't Gloria's style, and Claudia wonders why she's really there. She also wonders why she can't stop thinking about Nick, the husband Rachel jilted for her own, who still lives in the next house over.

It's all a bit much for Claudia, who, unlike her impulsive mother, has always prized the familiar comforts of stability and routine. Now that those have been snatched away, she'll have to face her fears and take some risks--for herself and for her daughter.

All well that ends well

10/2/26 - 10/5/26 Everything She Never Knew by Annette Chavez Macias I read this as to fulfill one of my Goodreads Challenges on Hispanic Heritage. I found this to be an interesting way to get to know the characters of this novel, by the author using the main character writing in her Diary to get the understanding of her and others that affect her throughout her life Then the next chapter would be the current here and now if what was transpiring in the main character’s life until she catches up to the Diary and stops writing for a while. A teen with a single mother, pawned off many times on her grandmother for some upbringing. A best friend throughout her life or do she thought. A marriage and child of her own that she thought were in solid ground. But life has a way of throwing us curve balls with what is right under our noses! but sometimes we have blinders on and we just don’t want to fully open our eyes to see the reality of what is happening around us. But what lies beside us only makes us stronger in the end and makes us realize we are better off without the others that caused the trouble in the first place. Her best friend. So the main character gets a stronger better life from this and her daughter manages to survive the fallout and her mother has managed to get involved in their lives.
