True to the title, this book delivers

A really fantastic book that teaches you as promised, everything about running. You'd think it is as simple as get off the couch and start moving your feet. Once you start running, there are a ton of questions that arise, from 1) what is the best type of shoe to choose 2) How often should you drink water (every 20-30 min, more if it's hot) 3) How fast is too fast (you should be able to carry a conversation, if you are training for distance) 4) How and when should you try to train to get your speed up (not recommended for beginners who haven't been running for more than 1 year consistently 20 miles a week or more) 5) How often should you change your shoes? (Every 500 miles or every 4-6 months or so). There are also tons of details on common physical problems that arise, why they arise, and how to handle. This is perfect for those that are just learning and want to make sure not to hurt themselves.

Great book, lots of information!

It's got bigger print (thank you for doing that) and is easy to follow. It is loaded with information. Really like the book. I did not buy it, but I got if from my local library.

Literally everything you need

I wanted to write a review to applaud this book and it's author. Of all of the running and fitness books I have experienced, this book is the one of the only books to achieve putting the entire picture together. It not only gives you the accurate and entire picture, Art Liberman does it in a way that is easy to read and follow. He is one of the only authors to communicate worth-while information in a manner that will keep you reading the book. I attribute its ease of reading and thouroughness to my success as a "budding" runner. This is a keeper.

Motivational!!

As parents of 2 daughters who have been runners all through school and now on their own, we have traveled many thousands of miles to watch and be there for them. Not once did we ever think about joining them. We bought this book and we really realized that even though we are upper middle-age, we can start a running program. This book is such an inspiration to us! It starts us off slow as beginners and makes us realize we don't have to be fast or win to enjoy the sport of running. Right now, we are just run-walking, like Art Liberman suggests to get into the mode. We are entering a 10k in June and anxious to participate and not just walk like we have other years.Great book for the beginner of any kind of running! Love It!!

AWESOME WORK

This book, simply put is a masterpiece. I am a 325 marathon man who will qualify for Boston. I have read this work and think it is an asset to any runner. It is especially geared to runners who want to improve their times and/or achieve a better level of fitness. Art takes you step by step and explains to you solutions to virtually every problem that a new or verteran runner may encounter. This book in my opinion is as good as the Iliad or Oddesey.....but instead of the author as Homer it is Liberman. This book is a must!!!
