I don’t get it…

I honestly could only get through 150 pages until I skipped to the end. I truly have no idea what the ending has to do with the first 150 pages… definitely don’t recommend.

This book is fascinating!

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of this kind of books, but it was catching since the beginning and so interesting, the author knows how to write emotions and situations, and I'm impressed how well-narrated is. I'm so into this book and I love every single page of it.

This is a must read!

Great book … outlook and life experience from different views. Author did such a great job on writing about what people feel and think but never never speak about openly. Family relationships, desires, dreams, impressions, expectations. It’s a great read!

Somewhat Disappointed

If you expect this book to be as good as Little Fires Everywhere you will be disappointed. I want to shake the parents for not recognizing who their children were. No one really applauded Nath for getting in Harvard and everyone zeroed in on his younger sister trying to make her someone she wasn’t. What about the baby of the family hiding under the table? She seemed to understand the family better than anyone. I have to remind myself it’s only a book.

Wonderful book!

Such a beautiful story, as with all of Celeste’s books. Makes you feel and really pulls you into the story.

A decent read.

The story was sad but interesting. I wasn't wowed by it but I'm glad to have read it.

Good book

An interesting look into family dynamics. I enjoyed it.

One of my new favorites

I pretty much never write reviews, but really felt this one deserved it. I had a hard time putting it down. It's not an intense, plot driven narrative, but an exploration of familial relationships. It shows how the struggles of the parents affected the kids and how it ultimately leads to the death of their middle daughter.

Captivating

I loved this book and could barely put it down so I finished it in two nights. It is a good reminder of what is important.

Good

I'm not a big literary person, I had to read this for a class. But celeste does an amazing job of weaving the lives between the parents and children together as they confront their flaws and issues. If you like intricate family stories, this is for you.
