Book Overview

NATIONAL BESTSELLER

Ten heists. Ten suspects. A murder mystery only Ernest Cunningham can solve in this delightfully clever and twisty new novel in Benjamin Stevenson's bestselling series--perfect for fans of Richard Osman and Anthony Horowitz.

I've spent the last few years solving murders. But a bank heist is a new one, even for me. I've never been a hostage before.

The doors are chained shut. No one in or out. Which means that when someone in the bank is murdered, everyone is a suspect.

THE BANK ROBBER

Turns out, more than one person planned to rob the bank today. You can steal more from a bank than just money.

Who is stealing what? Are they willing to kill for it? And can I solve the crime before the police kick down the door and rescue us?

Another wacky case for Ernest!

Whenever you pick an Ernest Cunningham book you will get ridiculously fun mysteries, at least a couple bodies, Ernest picking the hardest way to solve said mystery, and a wild crazy reveal that takes the most random things and makes them connected in a way you would never guess. Or at least I can never guess the whole story. I still enjoy reading these, especially when I want something light and fluffy and despite the murders, not dark at all. I do like how these cases have wildly different locations, this one being in a bank which started as Ernest and Julie want a loan to open a detective agency and ends with a whole bunch of quirky characters in a bank as hostages though each one is also a thief (as stated in the title). There is gold, money, and even a parrot and they all combine for a wacky story that I enjoyed very much. I am glad I discovered this series and glad too that I got the chance to read this one and continue the adventures of Ernest Cunningham and his penchant for finding the most oddest of cases!
