An interesting, fast read

I liked this book because it is not predictable. The reader never knows what is going to happen to 11-year-old Mike, the main character, next. It is exciting and reads fast. The voice of Mike is so realistic, and his adventures in 1950's Devil's Horse, Florida, while trying to get back to his aunt, remind me of Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer. It's a cool book for kids who like high interest, quick reads.
