Very prompt shipping, excellent item

I paid for a "good" used book, and was expecting something nice, but pretty worn out/written on. I paid for standard shipping so I was expecting it to get here next week. However! I received the book just a few days after ordering, and it looks almost brand new! the pages are intact, and it still has that awesome new book smell. Thank you so much for the excellent service.

The book was said to be used but it turned out to be brand new despite the sticker "Used book" on it. What an amazing business I've made. This book is exceptionally good for studying international relations because the author uses many specific examples for every concept or theory the author goes through. Very good! I don't think I will ever regret to by this book and to buy it from this seller. Thank you!

International relations

I loved this book. I bought it for my university studies and it certainly helped me throughout my studies and i still do use it for different subjects though. its a really good one, id recommend it for any international relation beginners.

offers different perspectives

One useful feature of Mingst's book is how she explicitly lays out different and contending perspectives on viewing international relations. One is realism, or its offshoot, neorealism. She traces its antecedents back to such noted writers as Machiavelli and Hobbes, and back to some ancient Greeks. Another perspective is liberalism, which emphasises more mutually beneficial actions between nations. While the 3rd perspective described is radicalism. Encompassing socialist or communist worldviews, though these have been largely discredited after the end of the Cold War. Another merit of the book, due to its publication in 2007, is the inclusion and analysis of recent events. Notably the US invasion and occupation of Iraq. Providing a very topical, attention-getting discussion, that should help retain students' interest.

The Best International Relations Book for College Freshmen

This book easily summarizes all of the key concepts to get you through those tough intro to IR courses. All of my friends at Georgetown were borrowing this book, because it was so helpful and easy to read. A must!!!
