excellent study of Eskimo life in the 1970s.

This very readable study follows an extended Alaskan Eskimo family throughout a year, weaving the history of their culture and their prospects for the future into the narrative. This would be a great starting point for anyone currently doing research on the Eskimo, or simply a good book to read before visiting Alaska. 215 pages, lots of photos. Hardback with plastic over dust jacket.
