We are the oxy generation. We are adderall children. We graduated from being suspended students to being homeless on the streets. They took our oxy like they took us out of the classroom, and we graduated to heroin. We graduated from juvenile to adult probation. We graduated from being sent to the hallway for being disruptive to being kept out of college entirely. My adolescence was full of people holding me down and kicking me out and excluding me and punishing me to 'treat' my addiction - and it only ever made me worse.

I'm tired of watching people get prosecuted for being sick with a disease that big pharma gave us. Prosecution doesn't help us. Don't believe the lies: trying to get addicted people to 'hit bottom' is inhumane and backwards. These ideas only help us hit the bottom of our coffins, 6 feet deep.

In this book, I weave my own true personal experiences with some history and science to help people understand the truth about why we are the way we are and how the current systems of criminal justice and addiction treatment actually increase the societal and individual harms associated with drug use, addiction, and criminal behavior.

Proceeds from these books will go towards bringing yoga therapy to those suffering from addictive disorders.
