GREAT Textbook!

This is probably the best written, most easy to read, and most enjoyable to read textbook I have ever purchased. (Being a graduate student, I have certainly purchased my share of textbooks!) It is comprehensive and instead of just talking about environmental problems, it offers suggestions on what we have to do as a civilization to be more sustainable and turn the planet around. It is obvious that Daniel Chiras was once a student and knows how to engage students and keep us interested in a textbook.

Really Going Green

Excellent book that (this latest edition) captures the economic issues and the benefits of a "greener" world. [...]

Environmental Science Text

This book was well priced (much lower than campus bookstores)and in near perfect condition. The only negative was that the book took awhile to ship and be delivered, but it was still a reasonable amount of time.

contrary

This book is more than enlightening in describing and explaining in detail how we have impacted and abused our environment and what we can do to counter act some of the damage. The one thing that I find ironic about preserving the "natural way" is that scientists in all of the science type books that I have read, want to stop the natural pro-creation of man, yet clone animals and man Wow! Wierd, isn't it?

Techniques for critically analyzing opposing viewpoints

Now in an updated sixth edition, Environmental Science: Creating A Sustainable Future is a solid, college-level educational text written to help students understand the causes of environmental crises and offer ideas for reforms that will bring about sustainable environmental systems. Techniques for critically analyzing opposing viewpoints, the latest statistics and environmental laws, and more fill the pages of this fascinating, informative and didactic resource which is further enhanced with the inclusion of a CD-ROM offering resources for instructors in creating balanced tests and effective presentations.
