My sister, Ellie, has Down syndrome. She looks a little funny, but is actually very sweet. Sometimes she slurs her words and people can't understand her, but I can. She is as happy as can be, except for lately. She hasn't been feeling well. I think it's because our dad left. Three years ago he didn't feel like he was being paid well by his job, and we needed the money for Ellie's therapy...and everything else. He decided to move to a different city to find a better job, but we haven't seen him since. About a month ago we gave up on him ever coming home. That's when Ellie started to get really sick. Everyone else knows how serious it is, but she doesn't. Mama thinks that she just has a bad infection, but I know it's because she misses Dad. This is why I decided to go on a journey to find him, and this story is about my quest to save my sister.
