Elhanan and the Giant

By Josh Hardin

Everyone knows the story of David and Goliath. But what if you were there... watching from the hills? Elhanan is a young shepherd learning what it means to protect something smaller and weaker than himself. When danger comes to his flock, fear rises--and faith is tested. Along the way, Elhanan meets another shepherd boy named David, whose trust in the Lord begins to reshape everything Elhanan believes about courage, obedience, and strength. As the Philistine giant Goliath taunts Israel day after day, Elhanan watches fear paralyze an army--and faith rise in one unlikely champion. Through battles with lions, wolves, and fear itself, Elhanan learns a lesson that will stay with him for life: Giants are never defeated by strength alone--but by trust in the God who delivers. Ideal for readers ages 9-14, homeschool families, classrooms, and church libraries, this story reminds readers that the Lord is our rock, our deliverer, and our strength.
