Lovely and Compelling

This is one of my favorite books to read to my kids. We all love the beautiful pictures that spark your imagination. The pictures and text work together to get you thinking about what it would be like to be a mole living under ground but also manage to get you to think about the world around you in different ways. I buy used copies of this book pretty regularly to have on hand as gifts because this is one of those quiet children’s books that (strangely) no one has ever heard of, but everyone should have on their shelf.

Good story, beautiful illustrations

I love this book and so do both of my boys - ages 3 and 8. I think it's not only the soft, fanciful illustrations that draw us all in, but the beautifully descriptive writing when Miney Mole describes what she hears of the world "above" to her sisters. It's a beautiful book - highly recommended!

I pick Eeny!

I bought this book for my daughter when she was only 4 months old. It is a great story about an adventurous little mole who keeps exploring her world despite her sisters' (Meeny and Miney) trying to dissuade and discredit her! The illustrations are beautiful!
