The single best book on soul mates

As with nearly all books that are firmly based on the Edgar Cayce readings, this one is the best you will find on the topic. Kevin Todeschi has long been associated with Cayce's foundation, the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE), and he is very familiar with the Cayce readings. As such, he focuses his writing on the spiritual principles behind the soul mate concept, rather than the "lonely hearts" stuff that so many of these books offer. Until I became familiar with Cayce, I thought the entire idea of a soul mate was laughable. That's because I was under the mis-impression that a soul mate was supposedly one's single and only true love, and my own life experience belied that idea. I know that it is possible to love deeply several, if not many, individuals within a single lifetime, so the idea that there is one and only one person with whom I would be compatible seemed ridiculous. Then I read Cayce and learned that soul mates are far more to each other than romantic lovers. Rather, soul mates help one another move toward spiritual goals. This can just as often manifest as hostility toward one another as romantic love. Even more important to my understanding of reality, I learned from this book that each of us has many soul mates, which makes sense to me intuitively and explains a lot of odd, sometimes difficult, but always compelling relationships that I have had throughout my life. Todeshi clearly articulates the spiritual principles behind the soul mate phenomenen, and I believe that one can rely on these principles because they came from Edgar Cayce, whose authenticity is heavily documented and whose readings have usually proved correct over time. If you are not familiar with Edgar Cayce and his readings, I recommend that you pick up some basic books on his work from the ARE, in addition to this book by Todeshi on soul mates. One especially good ARE publication you might want to check out is A Place We Call Home, by Robert Grant, who is another long-time Cacye student.

Superb book and Very Inspiring

At the beginning of the book, the author first clears misconceptions related to the term "soul mates" and I fully agree. A lot of people may look at the term "soul mate" and consider it to be some ideal person who will make one's life perfect, whole and complete, as if by waving a magic wand. Yet, in this book, a "soul mate" is a person who helps the individual to grow spiritually so that he can bring out the wholeness that is already within each person. The "soul mate" term also implies that one has shared a lifetime or more with another before, that they already know each other on a deeper level. In that respect, one has many soulmates. Ultimately, though, from a spiritual perspective where all is One and all are connected - everyone is everyone else's soul mate. This book explores different types of soulmate relationships - intimate relationships / marital partners, family members, friends, groups with soul mates joined in the common purpose, and twin souls. Each is illustrated with numerous stories from Edgar Cayce's readings (files). The distinction between soul mates and twin souls in this book is mainly based upon the purpose of the relationship: while the focus of soul mate relationship is on the individual's spiritual growth, the main purpose of twin soul relationship is a working on a common purpose - a life-work for the benefit of others, which neither could fulfill alone. The spiritual growth and sharing doesn't involve only the growth of two individuals, but also sharing of a common goal that is bigger than the two individuals; some kind of a contribution to the wellbeing of others, which neither of these people could do alone, so that are put together, so to speak, to create this masterpiece, a contribution for the greater good of all, an aspect of their destiny, they can only do together. The soul attraction goes beyond attraction on the physical level. Sometimes people are instantly attracted to the particular soulmate, sometimes initially they may not even be all that interested, but certain chain of events eventually opens them up to this inner realization and feeling that they have been together before, a feeling of familiarity with another that goes beyond physical level. The relationships between soulmates are not always easy and rosy - as a matter of fact, most of the time they have to overcome a lot of challenges and a lot of individual differences and it may take a lot of work. What keeps them together, more than anything else, is this commitment to the higher purpose that is bigger than they are, an undeniable inner knowingness that they are meant to do something together.

BEST SOUL MATE BOOK AVAILABLE

I don't know what the reviewer from the Netherlands is talking about. This book is excellent and contains MANY case histories from the Cayce files. However, Todeschi doesn't stop there, he also includes contemporary examples exploring the same principles discussed by Edgar Cayce. I highly recommend this book. It's about how our relationships work.

A light in the storm, this one is amazing.

I started reading "Edgar Cayce on Soul Mates," thinking that soul mates were one thing. I started reading thinking that I was one thing, and finished it seeing the world differently, seeing my purpose in life differently. Thinking in picking it up that it was about finding true love and being connected deeply to a certain few people, I discovered a deeper truth... one I recognise. It's revelations open up a profound new way to understand myself (what motivates me, why I'm here) and more importantly they reveal a new way to relate to those around me, one where atagonism and isolation have no place.

An Amazing Eye Opener About How Soul Attraction Works!

This book had everything in one place! How relationships work. The purpose behind our relationships with one another. Why souls are attracted to us in the first place. How the soul decides on its parents at conception. Even the nature of loneliness was discussed. Throw out your other books on soul mates -- this is a keeper!!!
