East Asian Studies (Volume 7) is published by the Institute of East Asian Studies at Zhejiang Gongshang University. Adhering to the mission of "rooted in Zhejiang, embracing East Asia, and reaching out to the world," the journal is committed to conducting comprehensive and in-depth research on East Asian countries and regions, with cultural dissemination as its core and historical contextualization as its method. Volume 7 features a special section titled "Translation and Modernity in East Asia," guest-edited by Professor Shen Guowei. This section includes seven papers, along with an introduction by the section editor. These contributions examine how linguistic translation advanced the modernization of the East Asian region and led to divergent paths of modernization among individual East Asian nations, drawing from the circulation of texts such as Tianyan Lun (On Evolution), Xishi Jiyao (Summary of Western History), and Hedong Wanguo Gongfa (Reconciled International Law of All Nations). In addition, this volume includes three other sections: "History and Documents," "Folklore and Culture," and "Reviews and Summaries," comprising eight papers. Topics range from analyzing state relations between Japan and the Korean Peninsula through the lens of migration in East Asian waters, to examining the literary inspirations behind Japan's The Tale of Genji through historical events from the Tang dynasty, as well as analyzing the spread of Chinese Zen Buddhist theories of mind in Kamakura-era Japan. The volume contains a total of 200,000 Chinese characters. Distinguished by its thematic special section, Volume 7 of East Asian Studies continues and enriches the content of previous sections, striving to elucidate, from multiple perspectives and in a comprehensive manner, the historical characteristics and contemporary significance of East Asia as a region. 《东亚学》由浙江工商大学东亚研究院主办，秉承"立足浙江，放眼东亚，走向世界"的宗旨，坚持以文化传播为核心、以历史脉络梳理为途径，对东亚区域国别展开全方位、深层次的研究。 第七辑特设"翻译与东亚的现代性"栏目，主持人沈国威教授，收录论文7篇，加主持人语1篇，分别从《天演论》《西史纪要》《和解万国公法》等文献的流播角度讨论语言翻译如何推动东亚区域近代化，以及如何导致东亚国别近代化产生差异。此外，本辑还设"历史-文献""民俗-文化""综述-书评"3个栏目，收录论文8篇，有从东亚海域移民的角度剖析日本与朝鲜半岛的国家关系，有从唐朝的历史事件考察日本《源氏物语》的文学创作灵感来源，还有分析中国禅宗心性思想在镰仓日本的传播等等。全书共计20万字。 《东亚学》第七辑以创办专栏为特色，延续并丰富既往栏目的内容，力图从多个角度，全方位阐释东亚作为一个区域的历史特征和现当代意义。
