Not because people are polite. Because there is no longer anybody whose job it is, no occasion on which it would happen, and no consequence either way.
Every functioning craft, trade and contest in history had the same three pieces of machinery. A standard - a statement of what good enough actually meant, specific enough to be checked. A test - an occasion on which you were measured against it, at a time you did not choose. And somebody qualified to say no.
All three are gone. You can train for two decades and never once be assessed by anyone competent to assess you. You can be wrong about your own numbers for years and never find out.
EARN IT. is twelve tests borrowed from the people and institutions that still had the machinery - and no opinion at all about whether you take them.
Twelve tests. Three stages. No permission required.
Every test is at the head of its chapter. Every source is named, dated and checked, including the several places where the honest caveat weakens the argument being made.
No program. No motivation. No certificate at the end. This book cannot certify you either, and says so - what it can do is hand you the tests and get out of the way.
