It covers exactly what you think it does

This book covers exactly what you think it does. It's not so wordy and advanced that you need to know a lot about the brain to understand it, but it does help. It's a very good introductory book on drugs and the brain.

book was good for it's purpose

I used the book for a class on how drugs affect the brain functioning. I recommend you have some prior knowledge on psychology and the functioning of the human brain, even though the book helps you through hard to understand processes of the brain functioning.
