LOVED IT

Wow--this is such a fun book--and SOOOO original. Told from the point of view of the main character (at first I thought I wouldn't like that)--was so unusual and refreshing. I really love Linda Howard's books and this is a HIT!

They're baaaaaaaaaaack!

Many folks didn't like TO DIE FOR, the inaugural tale of Blair and Wyatt. I, however, found it to be a refreshing departure from Linda Howard's usual romantic thrillers. So I waited eagerly for DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, the further adventures of the couple. I wasn't disappointed. The book is fun. Just plain fun! And the author even leaves the bedroom door open this time. I'm hoping there are further books in this series because I can always use a well-written, slightly off-the-wall book that's fun to read. They won't replace Howard's signature romantic suspense, but are instead a pleasant addition to them. And I say "Bring 'em on!"

A mystery with humor!!

I have to admit I was a little skeptical about this book, considering the bad reviews for the first book, To Die For. However, forget those reviews because this book is one of the best Linda Howard has written! I know that a lot of people dislike the first person novels, but considering how incredibly high strung (yet very likeable), and perplexing Blair Mallory is, it is clear there would be no other way to present her but through the first person perspective. I found the characters in this story charming, witty and at times a little far fetched, but on them it seemed endearing. Blair and Wyatt's relationship is perfectly matched (she's a bit high strung and impulsive, and he's very cool and collected) which makes for an entertaining read. I have to say that the actual story line of Blair being stalked is slow to come together, but Blair's out look on life and outrageous antics make up for it. In truth, this novel seemed more about Blair and Wyatt's relationship and their struggle to resolve differences and work together while maintaining their relationship. The stalker issue seemed to be more of a sub plot instead of the main focus. However, I am very glad that I took a chance on this book, and will certainly be keeping it a part of my Linda Howard collection.

She's baaack!!!

Not just the hilarious heroine, Blair Mallory, but also the romantic, comedic, thrillerific Linda Howard. It took me a while to figure out that Linda is not a one note author who recycles the same old same old year after year like some romance writers. With the ability to turn out all sorts of different stories, I've learned that there are certain Linda Howard books I love and certain ones that aren't for me. Luckily, Drop Dead Gorgeous is the type of book I like. It's full of comedy, romance, and action. Mr. Perfect was my first romance read years ago, and it set the bar high. Since then, I've discovered there are all sorts of categories within the romance genre. Vampires don't do it for me. Ditto on witches and the supernatural. I like simple love stories with some laughs and action. Jenny Crusie, Susan Andersen, Rachel Gibson, and of course Linda Howard. If you liked Howard's Open Season and Mr. Perfect, you'll enjoy reading about Blair and Wyatt in both To Die For and Drop Dead Gorgeous. I didn't think another Blair story would hold my interest, but it did. Now I'm wondering when Siana's story might be released. Pretty please! How's that for a title?
