Dreaming in Animals A Personal Dream Journey I dream in animals. Almost all living animals on earth, including those from various kingdoms and countries, have made an appearance in my sleep: eagles, hawks, echidnas, orcas, foxes, raccoons, bears, panthers, lions, dogs, cats, horses, elephants, snakes, turtles, fish, and invertebrates that dwell in the oceans, to name just a few. I've also enjoyed visits from mythical creatures such as dragons and human-animal beings called shapeshifters. I believe dreams speak from humanity's deepest and earliest knowing, and however strange and magical, our dream reality is our living reality while we are dreaming. Some dreams may spring directly from source (Spirit, all-knowing), an immediate and powerful connection. It might be compared to a direct download of knowing without trials of study and assimilated learning. Some individuals have dreams of this type; I personally know of at least two. Dreams may also come from the collective unconscious, a place we all tap into during sleep, which might be compared to a large ocean of human insight and experience we all share. My dreams are a source of inspiration for me, and I enjoy learning about them in relation to my life experiences, personal and spiritual growth, emotions, difficulties and troubles, warnings, lessons, joy and laughter, and accomplishments. I don't feel satisfied with approaching my dreams solely as a dream interpretation exercise, but I find applying these insights to my current life circumstance to be a richly rewarding endeavor. In this book, my objective is to try and discover what my dream animals are telling me about my relationship with myself and my life in light of my spiritual journey. It is a story of a soul-seeking wholeness.
