Carried by the dragons they saved, powerful Ring-Witches, Mayra and Wolfe flee their realm, intent on rescuing the female and youngling dragons stolen from the Nesht Aerie. They quickly discover the icy dragon Aerie isn't empty, as expected. Joining forces with unexpected allies, they find the lost dragons but are trapped within a vast cave with a brutal dragon set on killing the invaders in its territory--humans and dragons alike. Just as they find a means to escape, they learn of a stolen talisman hidden somewhere nearby that must be found before the evil dragon gets his claws on it, for to use the stone's terrible magic, he must kill a baby dragon. Mayra endangers the lives of those she's sworn to protect as she relentlessly seeks the powerful object, desperate to keep it from evil claws. Only a wielder of dark dragon magic can use the talisman, and that evil dragon craves destruction of Nesht's mighty dragons and all they hold dear, including Mayra, who is now like a daughter to the Prime dragon.
