This is an excellent historical and structrual analysis of Asian organized crime activity in North America (New Tork, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal) form the 19th century until the 1990's. There rae strong chatpers onthe nature, structure and history of the triads in Hong Kong and China as well as new Chiense gangs now operating in North america; The Big Circle Boys, Vietanmese gangs, the Fukinese gangs. See the follow-up film "Dragons of Crime" available from the National Film Board of Canada. Dubro has written five books on irganized crime and this is one of his best.Jon Lidolt
