After the death of his wife, Prince Logan, has let himself go with self pity, believing he will never love again. But war with the Ondoricans, an insect humanoid races, is on the brink and his father has sent him to enlist the help of the dragons. Prince Logan heads to the Dragon's Keep, an old castle that has been turned into an orphanage, because he has heard that a dragon comes every spring to collect his surrogate daughter, Aniea, the sole survivor of the Dragon People. He arrives at the Dragon's Keep only to be swept off his feet by the green eyed Aniera. Prince Logan finds himself believing the impossible, when Aniera tells him that a dragonlet, still in it's egg, talks with her. The dragonlet tells her that Prince Logan is special even though nothing about him screams special to her. Aniera also tells him that as far as she knows Rogan is the last dragon alive except for the dragonlet egg. To Prince Logan's dismay, Rogan, the dragon, hasn't shown up. Now he must take Aniera, who is his only hope of finding the dragons and convincing them to help, on a dangerous journey. Dreams of a past journey that took his wife's life plagues his nights, making him more hesitant to take Aniera on this journey. Aniera soon proves that she can take care of herself as well as the Prince. But in the end will it be Prince Logan who saves the day? Can he let himself love again?
