Light and cozy and fun!

As I get older, it is nice to see characters that are not in the prime of their life but still capable of saving the day (albeit with elvish orthopedics and a battle poncho instead of armor) with the help of old contacts and some very awesome cats who have their own special abilities. And that is exactly what Katherine and Imogene do in this first book of what I hope will be a fun series to continue reading! This is a perfectly cozy, humorous light fantasy tale with retired thieves, Katherine and Imogene pulled out of retirement to right an old job that went awry many years ago and finally get the disappointment of the nuns wiped off their record. There are cats, dragons, other magical beings, special knitted maps, and an evil plot to be uncovered and I loved it all. The characters are sweet, a bit sassy and the banter between Katherine and Imogene and a certain old codger with a past was quite entertaining as they work together to save the nuns and dragons from a perilous situation. I hope that this series will continue and we get to see lots more of Hornsboggle and Dodge who still have plenty of adventures left in them and more cats and their own points of view (which are the best!). I am glad I got to read this and many thanks go to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy for me to read!
