Cody Sawyer is sixteen, tired, and trying to be normal. Then the dream begins. He's lying in his own bed in his own room in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, and he can't move. In the corner, a woman stands with her head bowed and long, thin hair hanging over her face.
There's one rule, and he doesn't know where it came from: Don't look.
Each night she's a little nearer. Max, the family Husky, won't set foot in Cody's room. Frost creeps across the blanket. The cold gets worse. His mom is scared, his best friend has a library book full of theories, and Cody is running out of ways to stay awake.
But nightmares end when you wake up. This one doesn't.
