I found it interesting ^^

I found Dolls by a sneek peek sent from VIZ, they don't do international shiping now thought. Anyway, I was drawn to the great cover art and bought all 4 of them. They are short stories about people and "plant dolls', the plant dolls need extreme care such as 3 times a day you give them milk and once a week a sugar cookie. Some are sad and some are positive stories but all in all I belive that its the drawing thats best. I recomend this if you love short stories before sleeping. ^^

Very Good

I started reading this manga at Borders, and I like it a lot. It's about a shop in Chinatown that sells living plant dolls, but the owners must follow very specific instructions. Of course, they don't usually do too well. I can't remember too well, but I think most of the stories have happy endings. The art is pretty, especially the dolls. It's keeps you interested. This series reminds me a lot of "Pet Shop of Horrors". If you like that one, you'll probably like this too.

An Interesting Read

I picked up this series because I read the description on the publisher's site and it sounded intriguing. Sure enough, it was. First, I was immediately drawn into the beautiful cover art. As I read it, I thought how... strange it was! The dolls are called "plant dolls," which are living girl dolls who drink milk three times a week and a sugar cookie once a week, and they choose their owners. If they are not well taken care of, they either wilt or become an "adult." The owner of the doll shop kind of reminds me of Count D from Pet Shop of Horrors, and the concept of the story is a little similar as well, except replacng pets with dolls. It is also a little similiar to Doll, a manga about artificial intelligence dolls, except these dolls are much different, and much stranger. I reccommend taking a look into this unique series. Its short stories range from touching to entertaining to sad. I think there's only four volumes of this series. Dolls will certainly be a new part of my manga collection. :)
