After the harrowing incident at Happyplace, Dogby, battered and alone, heads up north. Collapsing from the cold and exhaustion, he's brought in by a single mother and her son in desperate need of a father figure. However, things aren't exactly normal in this town, which is being taken over by a cult. If Dogby's going to take on legions of disciples, he might have to call in for some extra help, straight from Hollywood.
I was a little wary about the second volume of this series. I didn't it could possibly top the excellent first volume. I noticed that a lot of people haven't read this excellent comic so I thought I'd submit a review. Dogby walks alone is a surreal, absurd story about a man who never takes off his park mascot costume (you never see his real face) who stumbles into a small town in Alaska and tries to solve the town's problems. This series is full of wierd references- the evil mayor is a mix of Dr. Doom and an Micheal Jackson and drives a Knight-Rider esque car around town. Lots of wierd situations, wierd characters, solid art, and solid writing that never takes itself too seriously. Definitely a series to look out for. I can't wait for volume 3.
