I WANTED TO POP THE POPPET!!!!!

For three quarters of the book I found myself frustrated! I actually wanted to crawl into the pages in order to choke the life out of the Goldie character. Her rantings reminded me of either a nine year old child or someone whom had acquired a serious amount of brain damage. Never in my life have I become so irritated with an imaginary character. Saber, on the other hand was delightful page after page. By the end of the book, I ended up I loving the both of them. The ending was marvelous and perfect. It really was a good book. If an author can make a reader irritated with the personality of one of her characters, then the author has done a terrific job of making them real!

I love this author!

If you love to laugh you'll love this author's work. Everyone of her books have been filled with humor and passion and love. I hate to put them down to do anything else. I've often stayed up late reading them or missed meals just because they are better than food!In this tale Rebecca brings two mismatched characters together for a fun excitng romp. The heroine is Goldie Mae an American beauty and the hero is Saber West a very English Duke. Now Goldie has traveled to England with her uncle to hopefully have a real home. Her uncle is a diruptable drunk who has gotten them kicked out of countless towns in the states. Goldie's great aunt Della Mae has passed on and left them her cottage. Della Mae used to be the cook at Ravenhurst and Goldie's uncle tells the whole village that they were invited by the Duke himself to spend some time with him in London. Now this isn't true but Goldie has devised a plan to make it seem true so that they won't have to leave again. The Duke hasn't lived at Ravenhurst for years, and no one can remember what he looked like exactly so Goldie figures she will find a man who sorta looks "Dukish" and give him "Duke lessons" and pass him off to the village. The only flaw is finding the man.Meanwhile Saber West aka Lord Marion Westbrook Saberfield Tremayne, Duke of Ravenhurst, has lost a bet with his best friends. He now has to be their slave for two weeks at his other country home. He is very unwilling to say the least but suddenly becomes very interested in being a common man when he comes across a very naked Goldie bathing in his pond. He soon learns of her plan and goes along with it for fun but also for the fact that he is strongly attracted to Goldie and wants her badly. He is facinated by her and her simple ways. She says things that have him struggling not to laugh one minute and holding himself back from strangling her the next. She has turned his life upside down in a matter of days and he is quite willing to let her.Goldie has no idea who he is but finds herself drawn to him. He makes her feel beautiful for the first time and gives her hope for a real home in England. This story is a very sweet tale of how opposites attract and bring out the best in each other. I loved this book and will reread it many times. If you can get a copy do you won't regret it.

Diamonds and Dreams

This book will always be one of my favorites.Paisley has a talent for creating stories like no other.I love all her books, but this one really blew me away.

Rebecca Paisley Never Misses!!!

I loved loved loved this book. It had me laughing one minute and crying the next. I don't know how Paisley comes up w/ all the funny dialogue...it's hilarious. I have all her books and anthologies. Her "Midnight and Magnolias" is fabulous, so is "Heartstrings." I wish Ms.Paisley would write more romances. Her older books should also be republished. They are all fantastic! Pick up a Paisley book somehow...you will not be disappointed. You have my guarantee on that!

Absolute brilliance of comedy and romance!

I absolutely loved this book from the moment I picked it up and the heroine had her own way of thinking. This book made me laugh out loud with tears in my eyes it was so humor filled! I loved how the author incorporated her wit into the love story! Big was her lifetime friend and she called him that because he was a dwaft but he was the most handsomest man you ever did lay eyes on but many didn't because of his height. Hawk was the hero whom she married in the end although she felt betrayed. The phrases she used to describe people and situations absolutely tickled me pink! She used one phrase with "Agnes" in it but I can't recall the entire phrase but that was one of many! I hate this book is out of print because a friend of mine let me borrow it and every since I've been looking everywhere for this book. If you love romance and comedy this is the book for you! It really deals with how courtship can be fun but deceiving. Well, this is my review of Diamonds and Dreams if you ever get a copy of it NEVER let it go! I'm a die-heart fan of Rebecca's and I pray she never stops writing!
