Excellent

This book came in great condition and in a timely manner. I am pleased with this seller.

Good but unorganized & redundant

This book has good information but was repetitive and gave me the impression it was rushed to press. The book gives you a clear understanding of why the author believes chelation is needed, but doesn't take the next step, such as if you wanted to test yourself for heavy metals what type of test is better; blood or hair, what are the costs? The book is 235 pages long and chapter 6 ends at page 136. Page 137 is Appendix A and is a Q & A interview from one author to the other, then App B, then C & D. While there is some fresh data in these, it is sandwiched in between 100 pages of things that have been mentioned 3, 4,or 5 times. The Index doesn't list mercury or (thimerisol), although chapter 6 is about mercury. Nothing in Index for heavy metals, lead (chapter 2), or even EDTA (which is mentioned throughout the book). I read this b/c I was interested in two metals. But it was difficult to extract information on them because of the format of the book and skimpy Index. This book should be edited, and it would reduce the pages by 30% and improve its readability.

When I first picked up this book I didn't know anything about chelation therapy ... in general, or as a method of detox. That quickly changed, however, as the book helped me understand not only what chelation is, but how it works and why detoxification is such a vital part of healthy living in our world today. The authors make a great team. David Jay Brown breaks the topics down using easy language and examples for the layman to understand yet carries them out with enough scientific detail to keep the more science-minded readers engaged. His style is friendly and fun, and David is certainly not afraid to bring up topics that may go against the norm. He is not pushy with his knowledge, but does like to plant little seeds that will get the reader thinking. Garry Gordon packs in a wealth of experience, research, and the "MD" that adds to the book's credibility in western medical. The book quickly goes into why detoxification is so important. It brings awareness to just how polluted our environment is (it is scary how many things I was not even aware of!), how to avoid the ones that we can, and how chelation therapy works. The great thing about oral chelation therapy is that it is available to the masses and not just those with great health coverage. The book goes into how one can make better health choices on a daily basis and how to add in a program of at-home oral chelation therapy. It discusses using EDTA and other chelating agents, including natural ones found at a super-market, their different specificities, synergistic use, and safety concerns. The book discusses at great length the hazards heavy metals presents on the body- their correlation with Alzheimer's, autism, lack of energy, aging, mental acuity, strokes, cardiovascular health, and many others- and how chelation therapy can help to counteract these hazards. The book is filled with interesting tidbits (I particularly liked the story about the researchers of Biosphere 2 and a theory of microorganisms causing long term diseases), a section on anti-aging, and a section on smart drugs. Every time I read a paragraph I would think "well, what about this?" and, inevitably, the next paragraph would address my question exactly. Included in the book is a hardy appendix that carries interviews with experts in related fields, Dr. Gary Gordon's Oral Detoxification Program, and a glossary. Even after reading the book cover-to-cover, one can continue to learn more from the books, papers, and online resources the book refers the reader to to learn more about specific topics. For one who's interested in cleansing one's body of toxic contaminants--and according to facts brought up in this book that should be everybody--this is a must read.
