Beautiful cards but requires some time

This is one of my favorite handmade card books. Beginners can use this book, but I recommend it more for the crafting enthusiast. I have used the projects in here (or similar) and received spectacular compliments from the receiver (and those who had the card "shown off" to them). The only reason this book didn't get 5 stars is because it is time consuming. I have easily spent about 3 hours making the card and envelope. Of course, I'm something of a perfectionist, so you can understand why it might take me a little longer than normal. A bonus to this book is the matching envelope projects. Interestingly enough, I found it harder to make the envelopes than the cards! However, if you do decide to spend the extra hour making the envelope, the presentation is THAT MUCH more special. Some of the techniques you will learn to use in this book are: paper painting, paper stretching, using 3D embellishments from clay or paper-mache (there are instructions), paper sewing, and paper tearing (yes, there is method to it)... just to name a few. Best of all, you can mix and match the techniques as you get more proficient. There are a lot of examples, and each highlights a new technique rather than go on and on with the same ones. You might also have to go out and buy some of the materials required like watercolor paper, watercolor, wax, molds, paper needle (or very large needle), bone folder (though I use my metal ruler, which works just as great), X-acto knife, etc... But don't despair, none of it ever goes to waste because after you use this book, you may find yourself going deeper and deeper into the art of papercrafting (if you aren't already a devoted fan of the craft).
