Fascinating True Story

Jacob DeShazer was part of Doolittle's bombing mission over Tokyo in WWII. His plane ran out of gas so the crew parachuted out over Chinese territory. However, DeShazer was captured by the Japanese and spent the rest of the war in a Japanese prison. He and the other captured soldiers from the mission were tortured. During his time in solitary confinement he was loaned a Bible. He read it through repeatedly and spent many hours memorizing portions of it. He was converted to Christ which brought him peace and joy in the midst of his suffering. After liberation, DeShazer returned to the United States, attended college, married and then went back to Japan as a missionary! This story is very well written and is only 96 pages long.

DeShazer

DeShazer was one of the Tokyo Raiders that bombed Japan after taking off of the USS Hornet in 1942. His crew was captured by the Japanese and during the time he was in prison he was given a Bible after which the Lord really changed his life. A great story about how God can work in unusual circumstances to save a person.
