"Moonlit Tower" is a tale of two adventurers hunting for whatever is held within a dark, mysterious tower on a hidden island. The challenges the men face, how the events change them, and what happens by the end is a Dark Fantasy rooted just after pirates roamed the seas; leaving their crews looking for ways to make a living.

This short story is from my Descending Into Madness Series. Which means it is based on a dream I had over the past 20 years, and added bits and pieces to help the story flow as well as help convey the overall message, twists, or unique aspects. Due to the fact these novelettes (between 20 - 30 pages) were based on dreams, there will be dreamlike plots, as well as imaginary leaps.

I have done my best to research and ground said leaps with facts in various subjects such as Science, Religion, Magic/Magik (pulled mostly from Dark Age beliefs, Dungeon & Dragons, or Stereotypical Mythology), Astronomy, Psychology, Real Estate, Technology (sometimes dated to the era of the story's setting), Cooking, Photography ...to name a few.

Often there were personal relationships that were featured in my dreams; some that ended really badly, others continue tentatively to date, and there were elements of premonitions. Unlike majority of other stories, some of the names in my stories ARE the names of the people from my life (Yes, I have their permission). Those I don't have permission from, had their names changed for the story. Real and fake names are mixed into the stories; whereas for the Introduction, nicknames were used to give them thanks as these first stories come out.

All that being said, these novelettes can be enjoyed as a mental break while at lunch, waiting for a ride, out for a day on your own, or just when you want a little time alone. It's why the additional recommendations of music, smells, atmosphere, food/drink, and any other ways to include your other senses. The more you stimulate your imagination, the deeper immersive experience you'll have.
