The general aim of this book is to analyze and discuss the crisis of representative democracy, as well as to present the solution found by some authors who cite the adoption of participatory democracy and the expansion of the use of mechanisms used in direct democracy as a solution to the problem. Some instruments of direct democracy, contrary to popular belief, can create even greater risks for democracy in the contemporary state.
