Happy but yet Sad

Ashley Smith block 3 Zoky 9-24-08 Dear Baby Girl was a great book that took me by surprise at the very end. The book starts off with Merilee is a pregnant 15 year old. She lives in a trailor on the outskirts of Austin Texas. Her mother has just killed herself and her boyfriend recently died in a bar fight. Merilee doesn't have a dad so you can only imagine the pain and suffering she has to go through everyday. She decides that she won't be able to keep her baby girl and immediantly starts seaching the web for adoptive parents close to her home. She finds a couple that she practically fell in love with just from the picture. As Merilee travels to the heart of Austin to meet the adoptive parents she writes in her journal letters to her baby girl. When Merilee finaly arrives the parents and Merilee instantly form a close bond. When the day comes for her to deliver her baby she (this is the part that made me cry) She comes to learn that the baby died. Devistated she plans to return home and never again see the adoptive parents. This is the best part! The day before she leaves to return home the parents generously invite her to live with them so that maybe one day they may adopt her as their own. At first Merilee declines their invitation but in the last chapter she shows up at their house only to surprise both me and the parents. This was a great story I would recomened it to any one!

Wonderful book with a surprising twist

I loved this book! I nearly cried. The book has a surprising twist, which was refreshing, and a happy ending.

Cryed

I loved this book. I was hooked from the first page. This afternoon my dad found me in my room crying while reading. It is such a touching story. The people in the story are believeable, and so is the reasoning for everything that happens. Merrilee is just a normal girl, and the Rey's are normal people i think that is why it is touching, becuase it is REAL sounding. It was well written, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Nice story in a "realistic" world.

This was a good book, but it seemed like it would never happen in real life. If you're angered by people who are pro-life, definatly do not read this book. Or read with caution, I would say. It was a pleasent way to pay some time in class.
