Unethical medical research

This medical mystery murder thriller is written by a physician. The plot and action are very good, and, of course, the medical situation is precise. Dr. Jason Gilchrist is assigned to fill in for the residing doctor of a nursing home while the residing doctor is off on a prolonged vacation. This throws Gilchrist center stage into an unethical scheme to promote an experimental drug before it is fully developed. The culprit behind this scheme is involved with others who are involved in an even more unethical scheme. Arvin Chawla cleverly plots Deadly Recall so that interest is held all the way through the novel and the reader easily understands the medical backdrop. The two unethical schemes are also cleverly thought out and interplay with each other. Jason, while investigating some mysterious conduct at the nursing home becomes aware of a series of murders involving people involved with the mysterious conduct. His own life becomes in danger. He cooperates with the local police, calls in his brother for advice, and befriends some of the people in the nursing home, who themselves fall into peril. The crime scenes and the police work to solve the crimes are believable, and the characterization is good. Arvin Chawla takes the reader on a fast moving, action packed thriller as the plots develops. You will find Deadly Recall interesting and informative, a medical murder mystery written by someone who really knows medicine. Maurice A. Williams December 24, 2007
