Detective Rudd is back and ready to fight another serial killer plaguing the streets of New York City. He is called on to investigate a murder copied from a best-selling author's book. At first, it seems like it's just one murder, but then Nick is called to a small town in Upstate New York because they too have murders happening that mimic this author's books. They determine that the author is the killer's end game and they must race against the clock to figure out whom the killer is while also trying to protect the author from the killer's wrath.
